Many of these histories are picked up left and center and written, some of the
facts get through right and some wrong but the gist of it is that people were
killed in some way or form. What remains consistent in all of them is that some
crack-head somewhere in some sector of army or population decided to go after
the government and Iddi Amin crashed him. Many Ugandans denounce Iddi Amin
because he should have had a morning cup of coffee with Arube and slapped on
his hand with kid go back to the barracks and never try to remove the
government by force of arms. The reasoning becomes very strange for to these
very same Ugandans, Iddi Amin was wrong to go after Arube but UPC was right to
send John Ogole to go after Museveni in Luwero. So Amin was a killer to stop
Arube but Ogole was a hero to stop Museveni yet both Arube and Museveni did
exactly the very same thing only that Amin was faster than Obote. That is the
point I get stalled for I am too old to reason in that manner sir.

Let me remind you something Iddi Amin used to state over and over during the
1978/9 war. Ugandans you are rejoicing that UPC is attacking Uganda from
Tanzania, but when they arrive into this country it is going to be cowered up
and very large. Well the government was removed from power and UPC took over to
lead Uganda to today, because Museveni also came from Tanzania and he was among
those that Iddi Amin warned Ugandans about. Go in any part of the country
thirty years down the very same road, and question yourself if that country is
screwed. May be Iddi Amin knew more about those stored in Tanzania than half
the God damn population did.

Just a may be.

Subject: [UGANDACOM] Uganda Political History... The year Brig.Charles Arube
tried to overthrow Dictator Idi Amin

A little bit of Uganda Political History for the younger generation of Ugandans:

It was at the height of Dictator Idi Amins killing Spree in Uganda. Idi Amins
State Research was Killing Ugandans like one would kill goats.

Brig. Charles Arube ( I call him Arubeco) ( A Lugwara/Kakuwa by tribe) had
enough of Idi Amins' Killing spree . So did Mustapha Adris .

At one time Gen. Adris/and Charles Arube faced Brig. Malera ( an anyaya from
Sudan) ( and an Amin's

man) ask him point blank as to why Amin and his Cohorts were killing
Ugandans like Goats. Malera did not reply .

Brig Charles Arube/Gen Mustapha Adris then organise members of the Uganda Army
( Mostly Aringa from koboko and Lugwara from Arua ) to orgainse a coup against
Idi Amin .

( using members of his State Research..dominated by Byarwanda and ayanya) Idi
came to know of the plot to overthrow him. those in Kampala in the 1975-77
era will attest to this fact. There was a battle in Kampala and the surrounding
area ..Tanks/Apc's were deployed ..Idi amin was closed to be over thrown.
there was boom and boom all over kampala.Brig Arubeco was shoot in the fight
and taken to Mulago Hospital . Amin came to know about it. members of State
Research were dispatched to Mulago Hospital. they found the Wounded Arube in
the sixth floor of Mulago Hospital , Arube was thrown from the sixth floor of
Mulago Hospital to the ground. Upon hitting thye groud the Hero of Africa died.

idi Amin decided to deal with Adris in a similiar manner as he dealt with
Arube.

An ..APC was dispatched to arrange an accidebnt with adris's convey which was
coming from jinja. Dada wanted to kill Adris claming it was an "accident."

Adris survived the 'accident". because Dada wanted to kill Gen Adris, a
permanent enemity was created between the Lugwara /Aringa tribe of Mustapha
Adris and Idi Amins Armed forces. It is the enem ity which pretty much lead to
the defeat of Uganda Army by Tanzania forces in 1979.. the Aringa/Lugwara
refused to fight Idi Amins enemies (TPDF/Vicosi Mwalu of Ugandans Exiles)
..otherwise there is no way tanzanian Army would have defeated Uganda Army.
under idi Amin.

A similiar situation is now playing it's self ..with bayankole nationalist
forces divided beweteen those who support Sejusa and those who still want to
hold on to power under museveni. long story short. Dictator Yoweri Museveni's
days are numbers ..nationalist forces are gatheringt up to leberate their
mopther/fatherland.

This is a quote:
"Even if Joseph Kony was killed, that would not necessarily be the end of the
war in northern Uganda because Kony is no more than a ‘ spiritual’ leader of
the LRA. This quick fix, arm-chair solution seemed to be from the Kampala-based
‘opinion leaders’ who only know the war through newspapers".

" Until the legitimate grievances and the marginalization of northern Uganda’s
communities are addressed, LRA fighters remain a possible vehicle for the
expression of northerners’ frustrations".

"Kony may never sign a peace agreement. Whether or not he signs, however, is
less relevant to avoiding new conflict in northern Uganda than ending
marginalization policies and fulfilling promises by the Ugandan government."
