The problem you have is that there is information we can only get from the
authorities, they are stating that he was trying to apply for a passport and
they refused to issue it for he had not responded to some questions, so he
never had a passport to start with. So how did the story of they were scared
of him and they had confiscated his passport come from? Jean go to a CBC
website and listen to the RCMP press conference for I am still having a
problem getting allowed to repost it. But go on the site and listen to him
for he says two specific things {a} He was not on our watch list and he was
never connected with the Ottawa killer. {b} He had a problem getting a
passport thus he came to Ottawa to push for his passport and lived in a
shelter. And remember this is a Conservative government that only cares to
get involved into wars than investing home, they have refused to pay the
soldiers and it is soldiers in this city that are eating most of the food in
food banks than drug addicts. It is soldiers that are filling up the beds in
shelters than drug addicts, how do you expect it to invest into drug
addicts? It is a problem you are going to live with till when we get a
chance to change the government come 2015. Jean you have stated that you do
not trust police source so that means you do not trust government source,
what source told you that the photograph was from an ISIS website? Secondly
how did a man that was a drug addict in a shelter get a double barrel gun
from? What is the back ground of that weapon?
This is from the shelter of who you call an ISIS terrorist that we need to
send bombs for.
Residents at a downtown Ottawa shelter for homeless men said Parliament Hill
shooter Michael Zehaf-Bibeau had been staying there for about the past two
weeks.
A resident who gave his name as Randy said Zehaf-Bibeau was trying to get a
passport and was frustrated with immigration.
He told me he went to the immigration department four or five days ago. He
was pissed they were asking him so many questions, said Randy. He said he
had overheard Zehaf-Bibeau trying to rent a car earlier in the week.
Dave, who was also waiting for a bed outside the shelter Thursday, said the
RCMP had been there over the past 24 hours. He'd be kneeling on a towel in
the stairway and you'd have to step around him, Dave said of Zehaf-Bibeau.
The homeless shelter is a four-storey building on a side-street that opens
onto a main thoroughfare. The shelter is an updated heritage building with
wood molding on the first-floor wall and grey brickwork on the upper tiers.
Another resident, who gave his name as Tom, said the police removed a large
duffel bag Wednesday night. Zehaf-Bibeau, 32, said he came from Alberta, Tom
said.
Dave said Zehaf-Bibeau seemed creepy, but he didn't have much contact with
him.
There's a lot of people around here with issues that seem creepy sometimes.
So he kind of blended in, said Dave.
And Jean there is another information I got that surprised me. This man
actually went to the soldier and shot him, so there was information out
there already that we have a mad man with a double barrel gun that has shot
a soldier just across the parliament building. He came to a car that was
idling with a driver in, this car belonged to a cabinet minister, I do not
know what he told him but it looks he threatened him and threw him out of
the car thus driving the car. He drove a ministers car to parliament. To me
that is a very good back ground for those in parliament to realize that we
have a danger. Now it gets even better, after he took the ministers car, an
RCMP Officer started a pursue, a second officer also joined the pursue. He
had two Police cars on his tail as he was going towards parliament. He
arrived at center block with his two police cars in chase, he parked and
walked up the stairs to the building where there is a full session, for the
conservatives were all in including the prime minister, The Opposition NDP
with its leader was in and The Liberal party with its leader too was in. And
this man came as close as just a door to go in for he was shot just by the
library. At that point that is when the Sargent of arms took him down. And
to those that do not know Ottawa, this building is high on huge stairs if
you have been in Canberra Australia that is the kind I have seen out there
that looks like the one of Ottawa. He walked up all those stairs in day
light I think 10 am with a double barrel gun that had already murdered a
soldier and he came in driving a kidnapped ministerial car, with two police
cars chasing him yet he managed to walk into center block.
If you do not need to take a very good hard look again on how that security
system works, one wonders when !!!!!

Mulindwa,
No body believes the police when such incidents happen. You know the saying
"terrorist alerts with no terrorist attack, and terrorist attack with no
terrorist alerts". This guy used to stay in Missions in Ottawa, Vancouver...
A few minutes ago, at lunch time, local reporters came to ask us if we saw
the killer in Montreal Mission... We sayed no. Then they left us. I told a
Congolese man how police confuse people. Here in Montreal, police and us
know people with drugs addiction who have always a knife hidden ready to
hurt or kill you just to steal your 20$ to buy drugs. Every 2, 3 months they
go to jail for attacking or killing people. They put public safety at risk,
but police let them go free until someone is killed. So what should have
been the difference for the Ottawa killer. NO difference until he takes his
gun to the memorial. Police say a hundred foreign fighters came back to
Canada. Why they don't arrest them to protect people? They wait for someone
to be killed... Personally, I was once threatened to the gun point by such
drugs addicted people. For me in my daily life, they are more dangerous than
the Ottawa killer. But police doesn't care for that.
Take a look to the photo of the killer with his smoking gun. The photo came
from the ISIS Tweeter account the same morning of the shooting. The ISIS is
believed to be training in Syria or Irak, not in Canada. So the photo was
taken out there, not here in Canada.

Let us try to clarify these writings as they come in fast and furious
Muslim convert who shot dead Canadian soldier is the 'privately-educated
son of country's immigration chief, had his passport revoked and has 'links
to Syrian terrorist'
Quebec-born Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, 32, recently converted to Islam and had
dreams of heading to the Middle East
He had his passport seized after being designated a 'high-risk traveler' -
despite his mother being on Canada's immigration board
He had multiple drug and robbery arrests, and a 2003 weapons charge
When you follow the official report from the RCMP and Ottawa Police the
information given above is not true. Michaels mother works with immigration
board she is not the national immigration chief. His passport was never
revoked. And that is the nonsense I have seen in this thread for it is even
coming from large papers as Daily Telegraph of London, Michael wanted to
leave the country to go and visit his family in Libya, his father is a
Libyan that has been living in this country as all immigrants. When he filed
the application for a passport, they returned the application to ask him
questions that he had not clarified, if you have ever applied for a Canadian
passport this is a very normal occurrence. The reason he came to Ottawa was
to go to the passport office and respond to those questions so that he gets
the passport and he lived in a shelter at a time. How did they seize a
passport that had never been issued? The RCMP officer heading the
investigations stated very clearly that this man has extremist views but he
gave us no reason to monitor him, and we were not interested into him. He
was never on a travelling watch list. In fact on his application to travel
he said that he wanted to go to Libya and visit his extended family, so the
RCMP knew that from the application, it is the mother that told them that he
also planned to go to Syria. The RCMP knew about Syria after his death, how
then did they classify him a high risk traveler?
And these are not my words get a copy of the RCMP Officer press conference
and listen to it before you confuse the population. And what does it mean to
be a man with extreme views? Well if our pilots go to Libya and bomb if I
post that I oppose that bombing I have already qualified to be a man with
extreme views. Does that mean I should never travel? No. These kinds of
reporting are very sexy because whoever is posting it is trying and very
hard to sell a story of copy of a terrorist or a radicalized man and they
are having a problem to put it together, what I have actually seen lately is
that he was self-radicalized. Yes because he has to fit the profile, and
they have no mosque to tie him too. In fact that is why the RCMP repeated
many times that this man had no connection what so ever with the man that
killed the soldier in Montreal for everyone loved to connect it and call it
a terrorist attack. And also to call him a Muslim convert, what was his
religion all along? With time I am going to track down the press conference
of the RCMP and see if I can be allowed to post it for there are facts that
are very clear which were stated and people just never want to listen to
them.

Sharangabo,

Born in Quebec as Michael Joseph Hall and raised in Laval, just north of
Montreal, the young man lived a quiet childhood of private schools and
suburban homes, with a mother who was a high ranking federal employee.
Then, after years of run-ins with the law, he converted to Islam.

Ottawa shooting: Michael Zehaf-Bibeau not among 90 being probed, RCMP say
Gunman had asked residents of Ottawa Mission shelter to help him buy a car

ments-revealed-by-rcmp-video-1.2810673> Ottawa shooting: Michael
Zehaf-Bibeau's movements revealed by RCMP video video
<image002.jpg>
The gunman who shot and killed Cpl. Nathan Cirillo at the National War
Memorial has been identified as Michael Zehaf-Bibeau. He is seen in this
photo taken by a cellphone camera through a car window and posted to
Twitter.
RCMP say the gunman who stormed Parliament Hill on Wednesday was not among
the 93 "high-risk" individuals being monitored as potentially violent
radicals, nor was he linked to the man who attacked two soldiers earlier
this week in Quebec.
But RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson said that Michael Zehaf-Bibeau is
connected to an individual known to the Mounties, whom he did not identify,
and said the attack appears partly motivated by trouble getting a new
Canadian passport.
The revelations came during an hour-long news conference that featured
stunning security camera video of Zehaf-Bibeau driving up to the gates of
Parliament Hill, dashing with a rifle to hijack another car, and being
chased by RCMP cars and officers into the front entrance of the Centre Block
where the first of two gunfights broke out.
Paulson confirmed Montreal-born Zehaf-Bibeau had been in Ottawa since at
least Oct. 2 seeking a passport, claiming he wanted to travel to Libya, and
had been living in a local shelter awaiting RCMP background checks for the
processing of his application.
Without providing details, the commissioner said the stalled passport
application was part of the shooters motivation this week for killing Cpl.
Nathan Cirillo at the National War Memorial, then attempting to wreak havoc
in the Centre Block. He added that the gunman had told his mother his actual
intended travel destination was Syria.
I think the passport figured prominently in his motives, Paulson said.
Mounties step up PM security
He noted that Zehaf-Bibeau's previous criminal record for drugs and violence
prohibited him from owning a gun, but there was nothing in the record that
might have flagged him as a dangerous radical.
Paulson also said the beige Toyota Zehaf-Bibeau used was purchased only
Tuesday, and was used to drive to the National War Memorial where the
reservist was fatally shot. The car was later abandoned in front of
Parliament. Then Zehaf-Bibeau hijacked a federal cabinet ministers idling
car, ordering the driver out, then racing to the entrance of the Centre
Block, three RCMP cars in hot pursuit.
The commissioner provided few details of what happened inside the building,
but said that the Mounties are stepping up the security detail to protect
Prime Minister Stephen Harper to around the clock because of the incident.
Harper had been inside a caucus meeting room on the main floor as the gunman
rushed by, shooting at RCMP officers and security guards, who fired back.
The dramatic video, taken from several angles, demonstrated vividly how
quickly the entire incident transpired, with less than two minutes from his
arrival on the Hill to the gun battle in the entrance under the Peace Tower.
In St-Jean-sur-Richelieu on Monday, two Canadian Forces members were struck
by Martin Couture-Rouleau. One soldier, Patrice Vincent, died in the attack
and Couture-Rouleau was shot and killed by police.
Seize belongings of gunman
Ottawa Police Chief Charles Bordeleau confirmed police had seized the
belongings of Zehaf-Bibeau from a downtown shelter where he had being
staying. Residents there say he told them to pray because the "world is
ending."

The Ottawa Mission is a homeless shelter a few blocks east of Parliament
Hill, which was locked down after the shooting. A resident said RCMP also
spent a long time in the shelter's computer room.
Zehaf-Bibeau was seen at the mission over the last two weeks, always wearing
a scarf, residents said. Two days ago, he asked for help to buy a car after
his own had broken down.
Like much of the downtown core, the mission went into lockdown Wednesday.
Executive director Peter Tiley would not comment on Zehaf-Bibeau today, but
confirmed that the RCMP had shown up.
'He acted bizarre, he did. Very bizarre.'- John Clothier, resident of
shelter
"I've seen him around the mission here," shelter resident John Clothier said
in an interview. "I've seen him for about two days. He was staying here,
everybody was saying, for about two weeks to a month."
"I overheard him trying to buy a car
a small car, because his car had a
misfire, he said. He wanted to buy a car, desperately, and he was trying to
get help from everybody in here to get a car."
"People were trying to help him, but we didn't understand what he was up
to," Clothier said. "He acted bizarre, he did. Very bizarre."
Parents issue statement
Meanwhile, the parents of the gunman issued a statement Thursday saying
their son "was lost and did not fit in."
Susan Bibeau and Bulgasem Zehaf said they were "mad" at their son and part
of them wanted to "hate him."
The mother said she had met her son for lunch last week after five years
apart, but had little insight into his mental state.
The two also expressed sorrow for Cpl. Cirillo, saying they were crying for
the bereaved family.
_____
Text of a statement provided to The Associated Press by the parents of
Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, the gunman shot dead on Parliament Hill:
Hi, I am writing this note on behalf of my husband and myself. No words can
express the sadness we are feeling at this time. We are so sad that a man
lost his life. He has lost everything and he leaves behind a family that
must feel nothing but pain and sorrow. We send our deepest condolences to
them although words seem pretty useless. We are both crying for them. We
also wish to apologize for all the pain, fright and chaos he created. We
have no explanation to offer. I am mad at our son, I don't understand and
part of me wants to hate him at this time. You write that our son was
vulnerable, we don't know, we [he] was lost and did not fit in. I his mother
spoke with him last week over lunch, I had not seen him for over five years
before that. So I have very little insight to offer. We don't wish to be
part of any media circus, we don't think it will add anything to the
conversation. Please respect our privacy although many may not feel we
deserve any.
Once again we are so sorry.

his wife, Laureen, lay flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the
National War Memorial on Thursday. (Adrian Wyld/Canadian Press)
Bordeleau said investigators have ruled out a second gunman in the attack on
Parliament Hill, as the area remains under tight security, with police
cordons blocking traffic and snipers visible atop downtown buildings.
"Were satisfied at this point one individual was responsible for the
shooting yesterday on the Hill," Bordeleau told CBC News, following almost
24 hours of uncertainty as armed officers took control of the city core.
Zehaf-Bibeau's rampage with a hunting rifle, identified as a 30-30
Winchester lever action gun, in the Canadian capital was stopped when
Parliament's sergeant-at-arms, Kevin Vickers, and RCMP fatally shot him in
the marbled central hallway of the Centre Block, within metres of a room
where the prime minister was meeting with members of Parliament.
"I am very touched by the attention directed at me following yesterdays
events," Vickers said in a statement today.
"However, I have the support of a remarkable security team that is committed
to ensuring the safety of members, employees and visitors to the Hill."
Ottawa Civic Hospital confirmed Wednesday that four people were taken to
hospital: the soldier who died, and three who were released after treatment
for minor injuries.
