Hi Holger,
I had just the same problem and asked it on the list.
I worked around it setting the containment for both scrollpane and boxpane to
BOX_LEFT_EXPAND, and setting a preferred size to both with something like:
int w = ClientContext.getScreenWidth();
fTopLeftBoxPane.setPreferredSize(new
com.ulcjava.base.application.util.Dimension((w - 450) / 2, 100));
same for the right pane...
(The 450 in my formula is because I have a left pane with minimum fixed with)...
