Emanuel LEA, boroughmaster Fenton PARSONS Daniel GRAY Thomas POWELL John ROYLY John BENNETT Thomas PYNNY Thomas HETHERINGTON Francis SKOTT Richard SKOTT Richard FIXER Chichester House 6 April 1613 303 Suit of John LEIGH and Daniel LEIGH A brief note of such suits as John (and Daniel LEIGH) of the Fort Omagh, in the County of Tyrone, have to be petitioners, for unto the King 1 For the command of the ward of the said fort, which now they have, during their lives and the longest liver of them, in consideration of their long service in those parts. 2 That the said John LEIGH be allowed, a reasonable consideration for building the said fort, as it should be the King's, and not a subject's. 3 That the said John LEIGH, may have lands in Tyrone, lately escheated, in exchange for so much of his land, next adjoining the fort, as shall be thought meet, to be annexed for-ever to the said fort, for the use and benefit thereof, after the decease of the said John LEIGH and his brother Daniel LEIGH. 4 That in regard of the remoteness of that fort, and that it is a place of very extraordinary charge in receiving and giving entertainment daily, to all men of quality, who pass that way, and that the judges of that assize and other commissioners sent, unto those parts, are entertained and lodged by John LEIGH, he be allowed, as the commander of that fort, 5 shillings English, a day, for himself, he having only 3 shillings English, which is a very small allowance for a place of such daily charge.
