Felix Reid/Reed was born in County Tyrone about 1830/4. Likely in
Belfast, he married Margaret Hunter, who was born 1834 in County Antrim.
They emigrated to Canada about 1853. In 1854, they had a son James in
Batavia, New York, before moving to Georgetown, Ontario, Canada and
settling in Perth County, Ontario, Canada. They farmed there until their
deaths in 1908 and 1875 respectively. Margaret had a sister Catherine
(married to Alexander Sharp). There is a story of a brother named David
Hunter, who stayed in Ontario. They may also have had two brothers,
Edward Hunter and John Hunter, who returned to the U.S. and settled in
New Castle, Pennsylvania.
John Flanagan born 1807 and Mary McGuire born 1810 married in County
Fermanagh. They had 6 children born in Ireland - Ann, Bridget, William,
Andrew, Mary and Peter. They arrived in Huron County in 1844 and farmed
in the area until their deaths in 1883 and 1861 respectively.
