I hope the list readers are active. I am from Felix McGir,r born 1799 of
Shantavny Irish, in the parrish of Errigal Kieran, County Tyrone.
This area is West of Ballygawly.
Felix McGirr was Roman Catholic, and his father Paul McGirr used an alias,
Short.
The name McGirr means in English "Son of a SHORT man".
When Felix came to USA in 1832 he used the name Felix SHORT in America.
His siblings were: Catherine, Mary, Sarah and Owen. All came to USA except
Mary, who remained in Northern Ireland.
