Toss it in rc.local for Red Hat or Fedora Core. Wouldn't be surprised if
it was similar for Mandrake and SuSE.

Depends on your distro, methinks.
On Gentoo I add nvidia to my /etc/modules.autoload.d/kernel-2.6 file. I
dunno how to do it on other distros.

It has been a while since I last did this and I am drawing a blank. I
installed nvidia drivers on this desktop I just set up, and to get X
server going every time I reboot I have to do:
# modprobe nvidia
# modules-update
I was wondering how to get it to automatically do this on boot up from
now on.
