Workshop on Law and Conflict Transformation,
by Johan Galtung
Join us for a one-day workshop on conflict work by Johan Galtung, one of
the founding fathers of contemporary peace research, practice, and
education and director of TRANSCEND, a peace and development
organization for conflict transformation by peaceful means. The workshop
will explore known similarities as well as revealing differences between
conflict transformation and legal approaches to dispute. It will compare
criminal law, civil law, arbitration, judicial mediation, the
interest-based negotiation approach developed by Harvard, and the
TRANSCEND approach, with concrete examples.
Date/Time: 10:30 am - 6:30 pm, September 23 (Friday)
