[UM-LINUX] Sophisticated but non-scary figure drawing tool for Linux?

Hi all,

  I've been looking for a tool that will allow me to produce [e]ps or 
div figures to include in LaTeX documents.  The obvious candidate is 
xfig though I haven't been having much luck with it; it seems way to 
complex for my needs, so I am looking for some alternatives to try out. 
 The only other tool I was able to find that's similar is figurine, 
though it is *way* too limited.  Can someone recommend another tool that 
I might have missed, or am I pretty much stuck with xfig?
