Since it it the last Thursday of the month, this Thursday we will be meeting in 1121 CSIC. The topic will be VPN in Linux. Peter will be presenting how to use the campus VPN in Linux, and I'll be doing a short demo on setting up an OpenVPN server.
Past this, we still have nothing scheduled since I have recieved no replies to my request for presentations. C'mon! There's gotta be some people here who can talk about something interesting! Linux kernel internals? Linux as an RTOS? Is anyone interested in doing a vim vs emacs vs nano vs kate flame war/shootout meeting? Any other frequent flame wars? It's off-topic, but I can do a presentation on the D programming language if anyone's interested (or if nobody else wants to do a presentation). Is anyone doing anything interesting with the new Xgl and wants to show us?
Also- not a single person has responded about serving on or heading one of the committees that I mentioned in my last email. I'm hoping I just didn't get the emails since my email server was down last weekend. If not, are you all not particularly interested, or what....? I had hoped to at least get a few emails from people interested in serving on a committee. If I throw out smaller tasks and ask for volunteers, will members be more responsive?
