Recently, my emacs (21.3.2 on Slack 10, kernel 2.6.10) has been taking a long time (60 sec++) to start up. This after a couple of weeks not using it on this machine, and I'm not sure what maintainence I may have done to change the behavior. Used to start right up. It's almost as though it's doing a DNS lookup and timing out (it's on a laptop that connects only to my desktop).
Tried compiling 21.4 from source and same thing. Also --debug-init yielded no messages at all. -q didn'thelp. Nothing in the logs, either. Any thoughts? thanks Judah
