Actually, that's interesting, because in my original FC4 setup I didn't have an mdadm.conf file. I installed my raid on "Linux RAID Autodetect" partitions, so the kernel usually does the right thing on boot.

But, FC5 wouldn't allow it. The fsck command in rc.sysinit would hang, preventing me from doing anything useful. I was able to get FC5 to boot
correctly when I manually created a mdadm.conf file.  You know, up until
I mounted the array.
