Just to follow up on this: I bought a no-name USB-parallel adapter cable from computergeeks.com for $10. Might have some circuitry in the parallel port connector, but who knows. XP picked it up right away and I set the printer to USB001 (instead of LPT1 or whatever it may have been) and it worked. I think the network server suggestion is a good one, but now I can get a USB version so it'll be compatible with the next printer I get (if this Laserjet ever does give up the ghost).
I think the one I got is a generically packaged Belkin product. Thanks for all the suggestions! Judah J. Milgram <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?
