on-campus interviews on October 13 for the following positions:

Technology Day at Vanguard
September 12, 2006
Honoring the Accomplishments of Women in Information Technology
Vanguard and the Society of Women Engineers will host this exciting event
in recognition of women and their accomplishments in IT. You will have the
opportunity to hear from a recipient of the Top 10 Women in Technology,
entrepreneur and diversity consultant Avis Yates Rivers.
You will also be able to actively participate in workshops and/or a panel
discussion.
Our audience will be a mix of sophomores, juniors, and seniors pursuing a
career in Information Technology, as well as women already pursuing these
careers in the workplace.
Date: Tuesday, September 12
Time: 4:30 p.m.  8:30 p.m.
Place: Vanguard Main Campus - Majestic Building, Malvern, PA
Vanguard is easily accessible via public transportation. Trains will
arrive at the Paoli Train Station, located about 4 minutes away at the
corner of North Valley Road and East Lancaster Avenue in Paoli, PA.
Shuttles will run from the Paoli Train Station to Vanguard between
4:009:00 p.m. to accommodate this event.
Seating is limited. Dinner will be served prior to the program.

There is currently an internship opportunity open in the local area in
Teaching and Learning Technology. Intern Job Description:
Available early July: Part-time unpaid Internship with a small non-profit
organization dedicated to the improvement of teaching and learning
technology in higher education institutions. Duties include creating web
pages and flyers, assisting the Online Institute Program Coordinator, and
handling day to day office duties. This internship may be eligible for
academic credit, depending on the institution, which we are happy to help
arrange.
Learn skills useful in a rapidly growing variety of institutions. Learn
from leaders in the field of technology in higher education, always
looking towards the cutting edge but also enabling others to learn and
apply technology in low maintenance, cost effective ways. This internship
is geared towards someone looking to pursue a career in higher education
and technology, instructional design, instructional technology, library
studies, institutional research, professional and faculty development but
can be applied to many other careers in associations and non profits.
We are located in a small office which houses 4 full-time employees;
others work part-time mostly via the Internet from Austin, Los Angeles,
and Pittsburgh.  We are just a few blocks from the Takoma Park Metro on
the Maryland side and there is ample free parking. This is a part-time,
unpaid internship. Hours are flexible, depending on your schedule, but wed
like you to commit to 10  12 hours a week. Ideally, this candidate would
be available to work through the Fall Semester. Dress is casual.
Responsibilities:
        The primary responsibility is to report to the Director of
Administration
        Coordinate schedules and events as needed
        Observe and participate in all Online Workshops, eventually
helping to Moderate
        Send out mass email messages to our subscriber lists
        Create flyers for distribution at Conferences and Events
        Create description pages in Front Page for new workshops from
Marketing Messages
        Edit and proofread materials to be distributed
        Update Online Calendars and Schedules when necessary
        File invoices and other papers
        Assist in general office duties
Qualifications:
        Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree pertaining
to education, library studies, technology or liberal arts
        Strong writing and editing ability; Ability to write in clear,
readable prose for academic audiences
        Interest in education, technology and/or higher education
institutions
        Experience with Microsoft Office Applications, experience with
FrontPage and Excel a plus
        Should be currently located in the Washington, DC area; hostel
style housing may be arranged if needed
        Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
        High energy, good common sense, a pleasant demeanor, good work
ethic
        Comfortable working with computers, Internet-based communications,
and other online activities; able and happy to learn to use new computer
tools quickly but not a computer expert
        Enjoys rapidly changing, difficult to predict environment  role of
information technology in higher education
