Thanks to everyone who helped make the 2006-07 year a success for ACM. We hope you enjoyed our events. Best of luck on your final exams and projects, and congratulations to everyone graduating!
If you are leaving the university and no longer wish to receive announcements from ACM, please reply to this message and we will remove you from our mailing list. Keep in mind that we cannot remove people from the CSundergrads list; that must be done by the Undergraduate Education Office. This is the last chance to participate in the ACM resume book. We have had several requests from employers this year and it's a great way to get yourself out in front of recruiters. As a benefit of participation in ACM events, members can submit their resumes for our official resume file. Once a semester the file will be reviewed by Career Center staff, and anyone with serious errors will be referred for an appointment. This file will be made available to all employers with whom we have contact. To qualify for the resume book, you must have done at least one of the following each semester: -Come to an ACM meeting (be sure to sign in) -Be an ACM Student Member (apply through us or send us your member number for verification) -Participate in an ACM sponsored programming contest tryout -Be a volunteer at any ACM event To submit your resume, please email a copy to acmpres at cs umd edu. Plain text or PDF, use your name as the file name. Look for a confirmation email. If you have previously submitted a resume and wish to be taken out of the book, let us know that too. Finally, we have two officer positions open for next year. The time committment is manageable and organization leadership looks great on a resume. ACM leadership also fulfills the service component of many scholarships. You'll make great contacts with UMD faculty, staff, and many potential employers. Plus it's fun, and you get to eat lots of free pizza. If you're interested in running for a position, or just want more information on helping out, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] Have a great summer! If you have left the department, contact the undergrad office to be removed. if you are a current student, you are automatically on the list until you graduate. -if you are receiving these emails through the UMLUG mailing list, we apologize if you're getting our announcements three times but assume you know how to use the delete function of your email client if you wish to ignore ACM.
