This is a fast paced, growing, employee-owned company that primarily serves commercial and Navy contracts for underwater solutions (welding, salvage, ROV utilization, etc) High profile work includes the recent recovery of an Australian submarine and work for James Cameron for his special on the Discovery Channel, "Last Mysteries of the Titanic". Primary role of the job will be to support office and field users during normal business hours in a team based environment. Overtime is available on request, but not required. Full time temp to perm. --------------------------------------------------- POSITION TITLE: IT Help Desk Technician SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: The IT Help Desk Technician will be the primary respondent to help calls from Phoenix users on a variety of hardware and software issues. The IT Help Desk Technician will also work with the Network Administrator in the maintenance and configuration of the Phoenix WAN encompassing four offices and approximately 100 users. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Primary respondent to all inter-office and field user support calls via VNC, phone, or email * Identify, research, and resolve user technical problems * Document, track, and monitor user issues to ensure a timely resolution * Maintain existing desktop and laptop computers * Configure new desktop and laptop computers * Maintain network printers and scanners * Hardware and software configuration management of desktop and laptop computers * Assist in the specification and acquisition of computer hardware and software * Assist the Network Administrator as required JOB REQUIREMENTS: * High school graduate * Technical School or Associate Degree a plus * 2 years of job experience: - Working in Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP - Troubleshooting Windows applications in a Windows 2000 WAN environment or equivalent - Troubleshooting desktop and laptop hardware * Competent in Microsoft Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Understanding of Configuration Management principles * Good organizational, language, and logic skills * Self-starter with attention to detail * Must be physically able to run network cabling and move computer equipment * Must be eligible to obtain a US Government Secret Clearance
