I've seen many, many complaints about Fedora 8. Many were people who were
upgrading from a previous version. What was your situation and how have you
found it overall?

At one point, I set up AFS on my computer to access shares at MIT. The
setup was a pain, and my processes froze uninterruptibly every time the
wireless network blipped. Now I just copy files as needed using rsync
over ssh.
umd-secure for wireless, getting it set up under network manager (or
just with wpa_supplicant) is a total pain.
FWIW, my computer with the latest Fedora 8 packages connects to
umd-secure just fine, although I was having problems before winter
break.
