I've been trying to clone a CentOS server, however it uses LVM which is making it pretty difficult. I've tried setting up the volume group and the logical volumes from a LiveCD, and then extracting the tar archive of the original system to the logical volume. However when the new system is booting, 'vgscan' is unable to find the volume group and I get a kernel panic. (vgscan does find the volume group when run from the LiveCD, though.) Has anyone had any success with this before?
