Cryptography with Linux: A Practical Introduction
CSIC 1121 6-7:30pm as usual

The goal is to introduce cryptographic concepts, tools, and uses. I'll
omit many technical details^ so I can offer an overview of what's
available, including:
* HTTP Authentication (w/ Apache)
* SSL/TLS (w/ OpenSSL and Apache)
* X.509 certificates (used for SSL/TLS)
* OpenPGP (w/ GnuPG)
* Disk Encryption (w/ dm-crypt)
* If time permits, SSH and IPSec-based VPN

^ Take CMSC 414 and/or 456 if you'd like to learn more

I'll post slides, code, and configs after the talk so you can try this
stuff yourself. The examples are necessarily simple, but hopefully
they'll give you a nice taste and some idea of what you want to read
more about.

Cheers,
-Nikolas Coukouma
