I have no experience with FIOS so this may be totally useless.
I do however have Verizon DSL which includes a Westell router that does a similar song and dance. It's management is accessible via http/its ip address using some stupidly easy to guess combination of username and password (I think admin/admin or something, until you change it). The settings are straightforward.
