Free to any home, good or bad: Umax Astra 600P Parallel Port scanner. Good condition, as far as I know (haven't tested it, but no problems reported up to the time the Windows box it was connected to expired).
Last time I checked, the Sane supported-scanner list indicated potential problems with this one so you may be in for a project if you want to attach it to a Linux box. But maybe not. And there are always the windows machines. Location: Silver Spring/Wheaton drop me a line. Judah
