POSITION DESCRIPTION:                                   

The Senior Manager, IT will be a technically hands-on individual that is
responsible for managing all aspects of IT, including corporate
infrastructure, customer installations, hosting solutions and
large-scale projects deployments.  Current example deployment comprises
a 50+ server data center build-out that includes large storage arrays,
along with supporting test and backup instances.  The Senior Manager
will be expected to review current onsite staff performance and make
recommendations to the customer regarding the technical and procedural
issues.

Additionally, the candidate will support other customers, to include
Windows server deployments, SUN/Solaris deployments, database support,
DoD security procedures and hardening for authorization to operate, as
well as certification and accreditation requirements.

The candidate will be responsible for hiring and performance evaluations
of the  IT staff.

*              Responsible for management of  IT staff, including hiring
and performance evaluation.

*              Responsible for  Infrastructure to include Windows, Linux
and network configurations.

*              Consulting on large-scale web application deployment
(data center experience required).

*              Responsible for the administration, installation,
configuration and maintenance of Linux/UNIX/Windows operating systems on
workstations, servers and/or laptops.  

*              Responsible for the administration, installation,
configuration and maintenance of applications on the servers - Oracle,
Application Server, Web Server, FAST ESP.

*              Diagnose and resolve hardware related server problems
(failed disks, network cards, cpu, memory, etc.) 

*              Develop  policies and procedures for IT, including
support of certifications where applicable.

*              Troubleshoot hardware and operating system problem and
suggests possible performance tuning. 

*              Work with database and application teams to gather
requirements for new projects and expansion to existing applications. 

*              Perform hardware and operating system capacity planning
for existing services and provides recommendations to application
owners. 

*              Interact with multiple internal customers and external
vendors and partners to provide quality customer service. 

*              Evaluate, select and implement storage solution for
digitization department.

*              Maintenance of DNS, IP Tables, other network
infrastructure.

*              May perform other duties as required.

o             Windows & SUN/Solaris server installation, configuration
and maintenance. 

o             System hardening for authorization to operate on DoD
networks.

o             Certification and Accreditation support.

  

Required:

*              Management of Data Center and IT personnel.

*              Equivalent of Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or
related field.  

*              8+ years experience as a Linux/Solaris Systems
Administrator in a client/server environment.

*              Effective verbal and written communication skills and
attention to detail. 

*              Networking to include DNS, routing, security devices.

*              Documentation of data center configurations, processes
and procedures.

 

Preferred:

*              Experience obtaining certifications, i.e., FISMA

*              Experience with Red Hat (RHEL) with certification
preferred. 

*              Familiarity with security and hardening of servers and
obtaining authorization to operate.

*              Clustering experience (Oracle database, web server/web
applications)

*              Experience with large storage arrays (SAN), preferably
NetApp

*              Experience with installation and administration of
application software on Linux in a data center environment - Documentum,
FAST ESP, Oracle, Oracle AS.

*              Identity management and authorization configuration for a
large deployment.

*              Windows system administration.
