Dear All, I got 'Knoppix' and tried to mount it. But, i cannot do that. I cannot do 'fsck' or 'dumpe2fs' to fix/see the HDs. Seems to me that superblock is damaged and cannot be found now.

Before dropping any cash, I might try the following: - Boot with a live-cd such as knoppix - Examine dmesg to see whether there are any message that indicate hardware failure on the affected drive, like hda: dma_intr: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error } hda: dma_intr: error=0x84 { DriveStatusError BadCRC } - Run the SMART hard drive monitoring utilites (smartctl) on the drive Depending on the error or status messages from these sources of information, do some Googling to see if these might indicate hardware damage. If so, it might be worth sending the drive in to an expert to avoid damaging it further. If the hardware seems okay, I would go ahead and try to mount the partition, and if that doesn't work, run fsck to try and correct the errors. Good luck!
