Hi there!

Just wanted to share our recent improvements in the organizations and
make a call for all members of the community.

- We're moving our main site into dev.umitproject.org. Our current
main site lacks information about all projects, and fixing it would
consume more time and effort than just porting it into redmine. You
may already see a lot of changes there, but we're not over yet! We
plan on finishing the migration by the end of this week, and I'll keep
everyone posted through our twitter account. Our idea is to give more
focus to all of the projects we develop and maintain, so users can get
to know more and use them.

- Site usage trend is slowly and constantly growing over time. We
believe this will get even better after the move, as the site will be
more useful, show more of our projects and offer more content. This is
an important measure of how our organization is doing, and when we
check the graphs, we clearly see improvements in this area!

- Development activity have being doing very well since Summer of Code
(http://dev.umitproject.org/projects/umitproject/activity) we have a
lot of people committed to their projects, and we're planing a few
releases in the next few weeks.

- We have just released the Network Scanner for Android, and it is now
available for download from Android Market! Special thanks to Angad
and Luis!

- Open Monitor is being under constant development since Summer of
Code. It isn't easy to monitor internet's connectivity, but we're
getting there. The aggregator was recently ported to Python2.7 and
High Replication Datastore on appengine, and we've being having a lot
of other important improvements, fixing a lot of bugs and issues in
all pieces of Open Monitor (aggregator site, desktop agent and mobile
agent) and making sure they work together. I've even developed a bot
that can test all pieces and even offer you an interactive remote
shell via telnet for testing the api and the agents live! Cool stuff!

- As I said, we're releasing a bunch of softwares in the next few
weeks. If you can, lend us a hand and help us move faster! If you've
being involved with any of our softwares, just get in touch and we'll
figure how you could help us out.

- We're getting prepared for this year's Summer of Code, and we would
like to gather ideas from the team! If you have any cool idea of
projects we could develop or how we could improve our current set of
softwares, just drop me an email with details. We're putting the whole
list together this weekend, so make sure you send it before then!

If you have a twitter (http://www.twitter.com/umitproject) or facebook
(http://www.facebook.com/pages/Umit-Project/108034685945297) account,
make sure you follow us!

Cheers!
