So, I would like to use FreeDOS instead of MS-DOS for this project. I have several reasons, the biggest being licensing. I can imagine a world where Linux + dosemu + FreeDOS would let us flush MS-DOS and MSCLIENT, making Unattended a truly free system.
But every time I try to use FreeDOS, I have trouble. I posted a message last month to the fd-kernel mailing list. The thread was very brief: http://www.topica.com/lists/fd-kernel/read/message.html?mid=1711969154 http://www.topica.com/lists/fd-kernel/read/message.html?mid=1711969642 http://www.topica.com/lists/fd-kernel/read/message.html?mid=1711970298 http://www.topica.com/lists/fd-kernel/read/message.html?mid=1711974924 My question is, have any of *you* compiled FreeDOS? Would any of you be interested in doing a binary search on the FreeDOS kernel CVS checkins looking for the patch which breaks winnt.exe? - Pat ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Etnus, makers of TotalView, The debugger for complex code.
