I just ran across this project yesterday as I was searching the web for
information. I have setup a very similar unattended install server here at
work (using all batch files, not perl, however) and am trying to find an
answer for keeping viruses off of our systems during unattended installs.

I am using CMDLINES.TXT to run a BATCH.CMD file after autologon. We copy
all necessary patches, Norton Antivirus, latest virus defs, and the latest
servicepack during the DOS part of our installation and install them via
the BATCH.CMD. All of our installs use DHCP and at the beginning of the
BATCH.CMD, I am doing an IPCONFIG /RELEASE ALL to kill TCP/IP on all
adapters, however we're still getting a lot of instances of Welchia during
the installs. I need to find a way to disable TCP/IP entirely until the
BATCH.CMD has installed all of the necessary patches and software.

Does anyone have any ideas? I am in a heterogeneous hardware environment,
so unfortunately I cannot use specific adapter settings in the UNATTEND.TXT
file.
