Hello,
I believe this is a known bug/problem in VMware. Try to search the archives for the syslinux list. This has been discussed numerous times.

Hello folks,
I'm using unattended for a while now. I encountered the following problem with VMWare. When booting over PXE (syslinux/pxelinux) all works fine, until the boot prompt turns up and I can't write anything to to the prompt.
Has anyone else seen this problem before?
regards, stefan.
