I've replaced the normal smartdrive.exe call in the autoexec.bat with smartdrive.exe /x /u. IIRC is internet slang and means "if I recall correctly". So, I'm not hundertpercent sure if the switches are correct and I'm currently not in our main office to check it. But I'm pretty sure that these switches do the trick.
