Hi!

Okay, here's a portable music solution for your IOS device - iPad, iPod Touch
or iPhone - which is certainly worth consideration.

The Logitech Boombox is not a hard wired dock meaning that your iPhone doesn't
physically connect to it, its a very nice sounding Bluetooth speaker system.

Pairing is easy, just old down one of the buttons on the left.

Now the Boombox doesn't beep or give any audio indication but as to whether or
not the device is in pairing mode however if you go into Bluetooth under
General under Settings in your iOS device and examine the screen your IOS
device will tell you if the Boombox is ready to pair, Double-Tap the "Pair" or
"Connect" button and that's it!

The Logitech Boombox looks like one of those mini stereo portable systems we
enjoyed back in the 80s or for those who are familiar with Logitech products?
Its about the same size as the Logitech Squeezebox Boom.

The one disadvantage with Bluetooth is that the Boombox and the IOS device
can't be too far apart from each other which is why I prefer to use Airplay to
stream music from my IOS device to another source so perhaps Logitech will
consider bringing out a portable Airplay version of the boombox in the future.

The other thing I don't like about using Bluetooth to play music on an IOS
device is that you get the Voiceover with the music whereas with Airplay you
don't, just a minor irritation.

The Logitech Boombox has an internal rechargeable battery which will give 6
hours of "Boom!"

The unit contains 4 speaker drivers, 2 mid-range and 2 tweeters, the excellent
bass is provided by 2 passive bass radiators, you can feel them at the back at
each end of the Boombox.

Press a button on the back and a small stand springs out allowing the boombox
to stand at an angle on a desk.

There are no displays of any kind that I can see though there are probably a
couple of LED's providing status information etc.

So that's a general wrap of the Logitech Boombox and I've only had the thing
for less than half an hour <smile>, now off to enjoy my music.
