The only point would be to reflect spelling variants used in UCD data files… 
which may not be of sufficient benefit to bother.

What doesn't seem clear from UAX #44 is whether an alias could be added that is 
equivalent under name matching rules to an existing alias.

It seems like that's allowed, but what would be the point?
