Do you mean that when one writes the dates in Finnish, it should use
"january"? ;-) Does it apply for the other months too? So in other
words, are we on "16 june 2000" in Finland?

I would be surprised if a Catalan (or any Romance language) have it wrong.
If it is, there is a fair chance that s/he is so contaminated by English
that s/he believes one have to write "Dilluns/Gener/Català" (I know of
such persons; I am not taking them as reference for linguistic issues, though).

And I do not know of any person whose mothertongue is Latin.
