Because a font encoding is called "Unicode" does not mean that, in an actual
font, it has much to do with Unicode.
There is no guarantee (unless the developer has made one) that the glyphs
in a TT font have "Unicode" values corresponding to the Unicode characters
which these glyphs represent. It is usual to find Indic or Myanmar / Burmese
script TT fonts with all the so called "Unicode" index values for glyphs in
the font actually corresponding to characters in the ASCII / Latin 1 ranges
of the Unicode standard - or with cmap values set to the PUA range which
Microsoft uses for pi fonts like WingDings.
