0x7E could be meant to represent U+014B LATIN SMALL LETTER ENG,
though the tail turns to the other side, in the unofficial code-
page, as of 1985, I have at hand.

If so, 0x6E would be U+014A LATIN CAPITAL LETTER ENG; note
the comment, in TUS 3.0, on a possible glyph variant of
the latter.
