First, my admiration goes to the tireless Sarasvati for endeavoring
to make improvements and having the patience to listen to all these
whines.

Having paved the way, I now begin to whine myself.

I agree with those that think [Unicode] on the subject is 
a waste of precious space. My suggestion is we replace "Unicode"
with the BOM non-character. ;-)

Second, where I have worked with lists that had the "your clipping
is too big" detector, it was very disruptive of communications.
You were never quite sure if your mail was going to get out
and it sometimes forced needless restructuring. And some people
cleverly opted not to use indications of clipping (no angle
brackets etc. in the first column), making the thread hard
to understand.
I would rather we didn't.
