Don Osborne wrote about the on-line Yoruba dictionary. Without some kind of an agreement among Yoruba users as to which combining mark should be used under certain letters (vert. line or dot), Unicode font development for Yoruba is pretty much stymied. This is really a shame.
It's also too bad that the good folks behind the dictionary project didn't use an existing 8-bit encoding scheme rather than adding to the disarray. Best regards, James Kass
