There are some who would claim that the 'unicode' list can't be said to have a "purpose" and should best be avoided altogether :). However, while there are posts and discussions that really don't belong (or are bothersome, or otherwise a misuse of the list), this thread, if it doesn't continue for another 500 posts, would not seem to qualify...
