Dietmar, I build on Linux on a regular basis so I am surprised to hear the uni.zip does not build out of the box for you, I will try to reproduce it, and will fix it if I can reproduce it. I am glad you were resourceful enough to work around your difficulty. We would like to move to autoconf, but it will be a big job to convert over to it, and I don't propose to do that before our first non-beta release.
