Thanks to some recent encouragement, I have ported Unicon to Mac OS X and
added the source code changes to the CVS repository. The port required
modest changes to the Icon ppc_macos configuration directory, plus mods to
the autoconf files for gdbm database and messaging support, and a tweak to
keep the build from failing due to loadfunc() not being implemented on that
platform yet. The build included X11 graphics and apparently the 3D
facilities are supported as well, but I haven't tested that yet.

I need help or advice regarding how to construct binary packages for Macs,
and don't know yet whether binaries built on OS X 10.1 run OK on later
platforms, and whether we'll need separate binaries for folks who don't
have X11 installed.

If you've been waiting for Mac Unicon, you can thank Samson Abramsky for
trying the source build and reporting the result, which inspired me to
look into it.

Clint
