STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Unicon Annalist is an international non-profit journal on the Unicon programming language usage. Aim of the journal is to cover as much of Unicon use as possible in rounded, easy to read form of a permanent value, and on that way provide useful and helpful information to Unicon users. Journal will be distributed freely via World Wide Web.
SUBJECT COVERAGE
Unicon Annalist publishes articles on use of programming language Unicon. Discussions on language design and implementation are published only in that context. Articles on the use of the Icon language, without Unicon specific extensions are of the same interest.
Specifically, journal publishes in-depth coverage of specific topics, descriptions of applications or libraries of Unicon programming languages, programming tricks, idioms, riddles and similar topics.
CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
Journal search for articles which satisfy following criteria:
(1) Article contains material not published previously in journals or books and not available at the moment of submission on the Internet sites. Material may be previously published in less formal form, for example, on mailing lists, preprints etc.
(2) Article contains some amount of nontrivial material.
(3) Article does not contain incorrect material, according to the best knowledge of the authors and reviewers of article.
(4) Articles of all sizes are acceptable. Article can include non-textual information like source code, pictures, and sounds. Means of publishing such material will be discussed individually.
(5) Style of the article should be moderately serious. Each article should include short introduction and conclusion. Extensive referencing is not required but it is allowed. Abstracts are not required.
(6) Author of the accepted article allows Unicon Annalist unlimited distribution of the article. Unicon Annalist does not require or claim copyright on submitted or published materials. Articles should be submitted by e-mail to the editor of the journal.
CALL FOR COOPERATION
The Unicon Annalist needs members of editorial board, reviewers, lectors, graphic designers etc. Every help, advice or discussion is welcome. Editor suggests to interested persons to communicate directly, instead on Icon or Unicon mailing lists, to keep discussion on these mailing lists on topic, instead on meta-topic.
SCHEDULE
The first number of the Unicon Annalist is planned to be available on January 1st 2004. Next formal announce will be published on this mailing list after publication.
