Hmmm, from I can see, there are several versions of rmemmgt.r that
should have prevented the fatal error. (CVS versions 1.40 to 1.43
all seem to have a fix for correctly handling missing OpenGL support.)
I don't update through uni.zip, so can't speak to what version of
rmemmgt.r is currently available through that route.
However, I don't think that's the problem. Having just looked at
the latest uni.zip (see below for more!), the rmemmgt.r file
'looks' fine there.
As to the warnings on missing newlines at the end of some files,
I don't think that's more than a warning. I just downloaded
the latest uni.zip and some of the files (such as src/h/rproto.h)
are indeed lacking a trailing newline. While annoying, that
shouldn't be anything more than that.
Now for the 'see below for more!' part:
==============================================================
On my CentOS 4 machine (old) I can't get as far as you do when
building from uni.zip! (Same configure options as you.) My error is:
------------------------------------------------------------
rsys.r:2108: error: syntax error before "__environ_lock"
rsys.r:2108: error: `PTHREAD_RWLOCK_INITIALIZER' undeclared here (not in
a function)
rsys.r:2108: warning: data definition has no type or storage class
make[2]: *** [xrsys.o] Error 1
------------------------------------------------------------
However, if I skip that and force specific compile of rmemmgt.r,
I *don't* see the same error you're getting, it compiles fine.
But if I build on my new CentOS 5 box with
"make X-Configure name=amd64_linux", then everything builds just
grand up to the point where the 3d Unicon programs are to be translated.
Then I get:
----------------------------------------------------------
make[2]: Leaving directory `/data1/home/swampler/unizip/uni/ide'
cd 3d; make
make[2]: Entering directory `/data1/home/swampler/unizip/uni/3d'
make[2]: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/data1/home/swampler/unizip/uni/3d'
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/data1/home/swampler/unizip/uni'
make: *** [Unicon] Error 2
----------------------------------------------------------
[sure enough there is no Makefile in that directory].
So I'm not sure the uni.zip file is stable w.r.t. 3D graphics!
(I haven't tried adding the 3d stuff to my CVS-based builds, so
there may be a problem there as well.)
Clint or someone on the build team will have to wade in and point
out what we might be doing wrong. Three different results on
three different Linux architectures is confusing!
