That is correct. libpthread-2 is the only required DLL. JPEG and PNG libs
are now statically linked and no DLLs are required for them. Dynamically
linked libraries have the advantage of having smaller executables when you
compile your unicon programs but you have to ship the DLLs with your
programs for them to work.

The path is the only thing. The Installer is configured to take care of that
and also to detect that unicon is already on your path so it doesn't get
added more than once - at least in theory. Some older versions of the
installer didn't have that feature.

I re-installed v12. It now has libpthread-2.dll . And no other

Unfortunately I don't have access to a Windows Vista machine at the moment
to test. I tested on Windows 7 and also Windows XP ( V12.0 download from
sourceforge) and they both work just fine. ui and ivib also work.
Are you working off an admin or a limited account ?
Can you check if changing the properties of all the exeutables in unicon\bin
( nticonx.exe, iconx.exe, wiconx.exe, icont.exe, wicont.exe, ui.exe,
ivib.exe) to run in XP compatibility mode would make any difference ? Or
maybe "run as admin" ?
