Thank you for the patch.  Jeff is planning to update the CVS 1.x release to
   2.6.20.

   BTW, the Unionfs 2.0 patches we have here work with 2.6.20:

Thanks for the pointer to the Unionfs 2.0 patches. While I would
rather avoid kernel patches in favor of external modules until now
because the kbuild interface seems to be more predictable than the
patch/diff "interface", at least in the case of Unionfs it seems like
using patches could be the better way to go. Namely the last times I
upgraded my kernel, the underlying kernel structures would always have
changed that much so the module I had used before would break
anyway. To minimize the impact, using patches would at least move the
breakage from compile time to patch time...
