That's taking it a bit far, I think. Philadelphia has a traditional,
gridded street pattern, with generally narrow streets and small curb
radii, except for the far northeast. Consider how pedestrian-unfriendly
Pheonix, Houston, Dallas, and various other cities of the south and west
are -- pedestrians are often banned from walking the streets altogether
in order to "solve" the problem of pedestrian safety.
