I ran into some problems with setting up a wireless network, particularly as we have both Mac's and a PC. Verizon tech support was helpful, as were Lucent and Apple, though it was time consuming sorting out the settings. Waits were surprisingly short for tech support - just a couple of minutes to get to talk to a person, even through the holiday weekend. In the end, everything was compatible.

I just set up a wireless network in my house, and the process was utterly painless. However, I wouldn't have gone to the ISP for tech support: that'd be more a matter for the manufacturer of the router (in my case, Linksys).

DSL is 10-20x faster, always on (no waiting for the modem to dial up and connect), allows multiple users, and is $7/month less expensive than our prior arrangement.

In my system, the Linksys router maintains the DSL connection 24-7. Since it also has a hardware firewall, it's highly recommended.
