I don't think it's shameful NOT to go to church. Everyone prays in their own way. Everyone has a different perception of what G-d is or isn't, does or doesn't do, what he/she/it looks like, and what powers G-d has. So why is there a need to go to a separate building and pray with other people who don't recognize what you believe is true. Religion should be more personal than it is. Granted, I am Jewish and the only time I step into a church is for Hetero weddings and flea markets.

Hey Ross, when are you preaching next?  Not that I'll be going myself;
still wallowing in blissful rebellion over here.  I just ask as a public
service to the rest of the list.

Saw your sister Bev at Goshen College last week, Tony. She said she had two brothers living in West Philly. I said, I know, there's that nice David who comes to church all the time, and then there's that Tony, who won't come to church no matter how hard I lambast him. She just sort of hung her head in shame.
