As far as insurance goes, I use Nationwide - they have an agent at 47th and Pine, Lenny Torrence, who's very easy to deal with, and as a former contractor, also understands dealing with houses like ours. They're no more expensive than any other company, and when I had a claim three months into my home ownership, they paid up about what I expected. I don't have his number with me, but his agency is listed in the phone book under Nationwide.

Neighbors of ours used someone who will no longer take on jobs in Philly. Hmm. And how about some good homeowners insurance/agent? I think we've finally cleared our washout period following our somewhat financially lucrative but insurance damaging run in with a possibly overzealous public adjustor. This has kept us from being able to refinance. Thank goodness rates are still pretty low. Names of people to avoid would be welcomed as well. In the interest of sharing this information with all on the list, why not 'reply to all'? Thanks, Ricky Moreau ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the list named "UnivCity."
