i find it interesting that when I read news reports about my neighborhood, the media can't seem to agree on what to call it.  When there is a murder, fire, drug bust, prostitution crackdown or other "big story" it is West Philadelphia.  When there's something about couples walking in the park or cultural activities, graduation day, or the "hip, new" restaurant scene, it is University City.   As for me, I tell everyone that I live in west philly.     J.
