Come on up further to our block of 45th Street between Locust and Walnut.  There's always double and sometimes triple parking on the street, people parking diagonally on the corner completely blocking a way to cross the street without having to go around a car into the street then scurry to the other corner.  It's fun - not - watching a fire truck trying to get up the street.  When there's not double parking (usually after the shops close) then people use it as their own "Indy 500".

Or visit 44th and Sansom -- where the "customers" of the food "truck" parked there (24 x 7 x 365, and now expanded to 3 trucks) CONSTANTLY block the bicycle lane, and randomly stop on 44th or Sansom as well as in Thriftway's parking lot. [And we'll ignore the fact that the 3 trucks and the "vending area" take up roughly 10 automobile parking places!]

Granted, this illegal parking does a much better job of "traffic calming" than all of the weird lines painted by the highway department, but it does not make it any easier to cross the intersection.

It's bad enough that this "enterprise" is "illegal" (why it is still there is a LONG story), but the traffic problems it generates are a serious safety issue.

Yet nobody is ever ticketed -- for blocking the street, parking in front of a fire hydrant, blocking cross walks, etc. ...
