Most implosions bring buildings straight down in what is
called a "drop." At the Vet, rotating the implosion into the stadium
itself required a different strategy. The idea was to create a hinge in
the numerous columns through carefully placed dynamite blasts. The weight
of the rest of the structure would cause everything above the hinge to be
pulled in closer to the field by gravity. A series of blasts needed to be
precisely executed.
