I might add that the owner is very nice. The first time I went, he kept giving me free samples of different things to get my opinion (as a Venezuelan, I provide a different perspective on coffee).
While the decor isn't particularly attractive, for those of us of Latin descent, it was a kick to see some of the pictures. The greatest of Cuban music were represented. Some cool autographs as well.

Being a Cubiche myself, I did enjoy my one and only visit there. I think
every time I go to CVS I'll stop in for my tacita de café.

To the list:

Decided to give the Café Clave across from CVS on Locust a try today.
It never looked particularly appealing from the outside, so I had not
Previously been tempted to go in and sample the fare. Today I was
Caught in a downpour, and I needed a place to wait for the rain to
Let up. Lucky me, to have had the chance to discover a neat cafe.

Based on my experience, I recommend it strongly for anyone bummed out
By our dark and stormy weather and hankering for a taste of Havana or
A jolt of java in a Caribbean atmosphere. Given the number of neighbors
Of various ages who were hanging out in the cafe, others clearly find it a
comfortable place to sit and socialize over coffee and/or snacks.

I would not say the décor rates highly, but it was amusing in a
left-of-center way, and the Cuban music that they were playing was
energizing and fun. (Not excessively loud, for which I was grateful.) The
service was prompt and cheerful.

I had a skim milk cappuccino, and it was excellent. Much better than
The counterparts at some competitors, who shall remain nameless.

Want a change of pace? Give it a try.
